Artist Bio:

Born in Venezuela of an artistic family but now a Barbadian citizen by marriage and residing in Barbados from the late 60s, Marilda has been painting since 1987, her mediums are oils, pastels and acrylics. She enjoys painting Barbadian scenes, portraits, ballerinas, banana trees and people in everyday life and is inspired by nature and people. She has won 2 silver and one bronze awards in the field of Fine Art from NIFCA in 1996/97. She’s the owner of the Frangipani Art Gallery at Sugar Cane Club, Hotel and Spa, Maynards, St Peter where her work is exhibited. A member of the Barbados Arts council and the Newcomers Art Group.
